Located in historic Mobberley are a number
of traditional country pubs offering delicious homemade food
with extensive and varied menus. Many are within walking distance.
Mobberley is also the birthplace of the famous mountaineer George
Mallory
who died on his third expedition to Everest in 1924. For more

Rose Cottage is just 3 miles from Knutsford which is also well
known for its links with many famous people including the poet
Elizabeth Gaskell and the famous American, General Patton who was
stationed for a time at Tatton Park during World War II. As well
as being a magnificent Manor house and country park Tatton plays
host to many events throughout the year including The Royal Horticultural

Set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, Rose Cottage is an excellent base
for exploring the surrounding areas such as The Peak District National Park (
www.nationaltrust.org.uk)
Chester and North Wales. The magnificent stately homes of Capesthorne, Gawsworth,
Arley and Dunham Halls, together with the fascinating Jodrell Bank telescope
and the arbouretum of Sir
Bernard Lovell are just a short drive way .
Manchester airport is only a 10 minute drive, therefore Rose Cottage is happy
to provide secure parking facilities and travel to and from the airport or
other locations. (by prior arrangement).
For the more active, arrangements can be made to play golf at the nearby courses
of Mobberley, (www.mobberleygolfclub.co.uk) Knutsford, Mere, Wilmslow and many
more. Horse riding is available only 250 yards away. A large fishing pool is
planned for summer 2004.
